PADI scuba diving certification in Hawaii
By Ken Goetz of RainbowScuba.com
Want to learn how to scuba dive? PADI (professional association of diving instructors) is one of the largest and most recognized in the world of scuba diving. The Open Water course is the basic certification that once certified you can purchase scuba gear from dive shops and dive with a buddy to a depth of 60’. It is a very easy course and 98% of the students pass. The 2% that do not are often not truly interested in diving but joined with a friend or spouse who was interested. The first step is bookwork, an easy read in about 3 – 4 hours, 5 chapters with reviews at the end of each chapter. You must be in good health and be very comfortable in the water. You must be able to swim and float for about 10 minutes. You will then be introduced to the gear and how to set it up properly. An instructor will then teach you the basic 20 skills until you feel comfortable with them. The following two days you will be on the boat reviewing those skills with your instructor. Lastly a simple quiz and final test (50 multiple choice). Once PADI certified you are certified for life but if you have not dove for a while a refresher course is recommended to keep your skills sharp. Feel free to contact us regarding PADI certification Hawaii courses for beginners and advanced scuba divers alike.
