First time scuba diving in Hawaii
By Ken Goetz of e-travel-hawaii.com
Scuba diving in Hawaii is easy, even for the first time diver. Anyone who is comfortable in the water and can swim will enjoy exploring this hidden underwater world. Your dive instructor will guide you with these steps. A few simple rules: 1) Don't hold your breath, just breath slowly and relax! 2) Ascend from the bottom slowly, ascension rate of about 1' per second or slower. 3) Equalize the pressure on your ear drums. A few simple skills: 1) How to clear any water from your regulator. 2) How to find your regulator if it comes out of you mouth. 3) How to clear any water out of the mask. After that, your instructor will guide you though the diving site, closely watching to ensure you comfort and enjoyment. They say scuba diving is 80% mental, if you are relaxed and listen to your instructor, you will enjoy the experience.
